I (Kyle Oswald) have been involved in BMX since I was 9 years old.  From racer to track director I have seen all sides of this Amazing sport called BMX.  One element that needs to be remembered is that it still needs to be a fun activity for all parents and riders.  I loved when I was  winning races but, I loved making new friends more than anything.  We all need to remember that we are creating memories for our kids along with memories for ourselves.  Sure you remember going to that big race a winning the big one.  WHO WOULDN"T!!!  But there is more to the sport then winning and we will show you both the competitive side and the fun side of the sport that has consumed my life with memories for a lifetime.  That sport is the one and only

Just for Fun :)........It's not all about Racing

How about a simple game where all you have to do is stay on your pedals.  Sure sounds easy.  You are sooooooo wrong.  15+ riders put in a very small square like fish in a fish tank.  Trying to avoid one another and be the last rider standing in the old school and really fun game of  FOOT DOWN.  Balance is the key to survival in this quirky little game.  It also helps to have a stradegy in mind and maybe you gang up on other riders and sumo them out of the square.  The riders can't get enough of this game of survival.  Avoid the carnage and you will win the foot down.

I'm sure at one time or another you have been involved in a relay race, right?  Have you tried that race with bikes and boxer shorts?  Each team has 3 riders per team. This event starts with the team captain at the finish line.  When I say go each team grabs a pair of boxers which some are very small and some very large.  The rider puts on the boxers and rides the track backwards to their teammate where they take the boxers off and hand them to their teammate like it was a baton.  Then they have to repeat the same process and move on to the third teammate.  There are total shenanigans when riders try to pass the baton in this fun for all event called: THE BOXER SHORT RACE!!!!!

  • Ok everyone lets picture this:  How about a race that would mimic stock car racing, in that all the cars are created equal with restricter plates to limit the speed.  Yes we have such an event.  Welcome to the KING OF SIXTEEN CHALLENGE  We have 8 16inch bikes that are all the same and all ages from 4 to 40 get to race.  Older riders are very limited in speed and control so the odds of a 10 year old beating a 18 year old are very high.  Not to mention it is so funny watching everyone crank away on those little bikes.  Think you have what it takes to be the KING OF 16!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So you want a real challenge!  Well lets see how far you can make it around the track without pedaling.  The gate drops and no pedaling only pumping.  This game will test your skills on how to gain momentum in what some call the no chain race or what we call THE PUMP RACE!
An event that started few years ago is the PIT BIKE RACE.   Take a 20inch bike and throw some 16inch wheels on it and you have a pit bike..  It's an event that amazes you just how fast these bike can go.  They also make for a great street bike.
